The Firecracker Ball, which raised an astonishing £285,000 in 2016 for Barnardo’s from the 720 guests, is creating an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ experience for this year’s event, held on Saturday 11th November.
The wonderland themed spectacular, which will once again be held in a huge marquee in the grounds of Rudding Park Hotel, will be extra special as 2017.
Leeds based firm Evans Property Group retains lead sponsorship of the event with UBS as co-sponsors. Source Marketing Communications, Phillip Stoner the Jeweller, and Team Print Services have also confirmed sponsorship again for the hugely successful event.
Now in its sixteenth year supporting Barnardo’s, the prestigious event which raises considerable funds for causes across Yorkshire will be hosted by author and former presenter for both BBC and ITV, Jon Hammond, and organisers will soon be announcing a huge headline act and other surprises for the hundreds of guests at the black tie event, including high profile celebrities and ‘money can’t buy’ auction prizes.
Kirsty Guy, senior relationship manager, from Barnardo’s said: “The funds raised from the Firecracker Ball are helping to make sure that Barnardo’s across Yorkshire can continue to offer services to help children flourish, help keep families strong, and help communities to protect and nurture their young people.”
The Firecracker Ball committee is actively seeking support from individuals and businesses in the region who are interested in sponsorship packages, table bookings or donating auction or other prizes for the charity.
Last year marked Barnardo’s 150th anniversary, and the Firecracker committee members and event sponsors attended an anniversary event at the special Buckingham Palace garden party where Phil Taylor, Chair of the Firecracker Ball committee and Barnardo’s Vice President was recognised for his work by the President of Barnardo’s, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
Phil said: “The Firecracker Ball is a fabulous opportunity to host clients or friends at a truly memorable event. It’s a must for Yorkshire’s leading corporate businesses and entrepreneurs, with companies and individuals returning year on year.”
Only a few tables now remain and the committee are therefore urging people to book as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out.
As one of the standout charity events in the Yorkshire social calendar, funds raised from The Firecracker Ball help to change the lives of thousands of children and young people across the region. Since Barnardo’s became its chosen charity in 2002 the ball has raised almost £2.3m for Barnardo’s causes.
